I found this while doing a Google search of “Augusten Burroughs tattoos.” It came up on the first page. I hope to God that the discoloration around the belly button is part of the tattoo, but I have the sneaking suspicion that it’s not.

Just to clarify I have seen thousands of tattoos and this particular one many times as an example of humour tattoos. (Yes I admit everytime I see it it does make me chuckle).
However having had a close look at the brown I am pretty sure that is not ink. Looks like scar tissue.
